Chugging along…

Holding Steady…

Not much has changed this week. Nathan continues to improve each day steadily. This infection was tough, but he’s packing on the pounds…yes, pounds. We’ll get some new pictures posted once he gets back to normal. Thank you again for all your prayers and encouragement.

A Good Day

Accentuate the Positive

So after enjoying ten blissful days of post-ETV and reservoir placement surgery, once again, we’ve encountered a setback. They discovered yet another staph infection, this time in the cerebral fluid and due to the plastic device used as a reservoir. See ya later ventilator…

Finally. After 2 weeks of intubation, they were able to ween him off today! He’s doing so much better now with his breathing. The nurses seem to think he just wasn’t a happy fellow with that tube and it was holding him back more than helping him. He’s proving them right.

Progress

Throughout this process, the most comforting thing for us has been a clear understanding that we’re moving forward and clarity about the direction we’re heading in.
